Editorial Process
The SJALR Editorial Board carefully considers all articles received. After preliminary review and research, the Editorial Board will decide whether to publish the article. Initial manuscript submissions must be received NLT December 10th to be guaranteed consideration for the current academic year publication. Manuscripts received after December 10th may be selected for publication in the next academic year volume. If the article is selected for publication, the author will be required to submit an indexed binder containing all resources used to write the article, formatted to cross-reference with each footnote (see Research Binder Standards). The binder typically includes copies of the applicable law, supporting documents, and transcripts used to write the article and is required to be submitted no later than February 1st of the publication year. Board and Staff members of the SJALR will then check the substantive and technical accuracy of the article, as well as make grammatical and stylistic suggestions. The editorial process typically continues through March for publication in early summer.
