SJCL is thrilled to congratulate students Cindy Arredondo (4L) and Karen Lopez-Pena (2L) for their selection as recipients of Soroptimist International’s 2023 “Furthering the Dream” award. Sponsored by the Sierra Pacific Region, the mission of the award is to “advance the status of women through financial support while they pursue a baccalaureate, master’s, doctoral, law, medicine, teaching, or technical degree/certificate.”
Ten different law firms and another ten agencies participated in the first-ever San Joaquin College of Law Career Day/Resume Exchange on October 21st.
They came toting everything from logoed pens and Purell bottles to donuts and stuffed police dogs, but the biggest showstopper of all was the juggernaut of jobs. There were far more jobs than potential applicants, with most of the 20 firms and agencies offering more than just one opening.
Meet Lisa Talley, a Mass Communication & Journalism graduate from Fresno State and current law student at San Joaquin College of Law. She learned early on that the law is a powerful tool and is passionate about providing everyone with an opportunity to learn it once she graduates.
