We wish to express our sincere gratitude to all who have provided scholarships for our law students. Some 40 scholarships were awarded to SJCL students this year. The Virtual DYI Barrister’s Brunch Awards Ceremony was a great success and we are thrilled for all those who received scholarship awards, as well as the Student and Faculty of the Year awards.
Screams of joy broke out in homes, offices, and one law school across the San Joaquin Valley as the 2020 graduates of SJCL learned that 72% of them had passed the October California Bar Exam on the first attempt.
Fresno State graduate and 1L, Savana Perez, always knew she wanted to help animals. After starting college as an Animal Science major and graduating with a degree in Economics, Savana chose another career path that would give her plenty of options to choose from, including helping animals in a different way. Meet Joslyn Hillberg, a 3L at San Joaquin College of Law and a Communication Studies major from California State University, Stanislaus. Her interest in law began at a young age and helped guide her all the way to the halls of San Joaquin College of Law.
