Health advocates are concerned a recent court decision on undocumented residents could hurt public health. The ruling lifted part of a 30-year-old court order involving specialty medical care for the indigent. Previously, Fresno County had been barred from using a person’s immigration status to deny services.
Professor Bobadilla, the director of the New American Legal Clinic at San Joaquin College of Law, believes the ruling is “ripe for appeal.”
