Sevag Tateosian
Adam Stirrup

Considering the average age of a student at San Joaquin College of Law is 28, it isn’t easy for grads to achieve notability in the community before the age of 40. And yet, for the third time, SJCL grads have made Business Street’s “40 under 40” list. This is just the fourth year for the list, and it includes both Adam Stirrup (Law ‘08) and Sevag Tateosian (Law ‘08). Two years ago, Lisa Bennett (Law ‘03) became the first SJCL grad to make the list.

Stirrup’s community involvement includes sitting on the board of the Fresno State Alumni Association and Fresno County Young Lawyers, along with community service at the Saint Agnes Men’s Club. He currently works for McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte and Carruth.

Tateosian heads the “Bank on Fresno” program through the United Way of Fresno County. Governor Schwarzenegger’s office chose Tateosian to coordinate the effort to help low-income individuals open checking and savings accounts. The original goal was to open 10,000 such accounts, but under Tateosian, more than 50,000 accounts have been created.
