Environmental Law

Jessi Fierro has worked in the air quality field for over 20 years. At the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (2005-2022), her work included plan and regulatory development; civil enforcement of environmental regulations through the eight county Superior Courts of the San Joaquin Valley; federal appellate work in the Ninth and D.C. Circuits; and advising on employment and public agency issues. She has worked in the Legal Office of the California Air Resources Board since 2023, currently serving as Attorney Supervisor. She supports statewide implementation of the federal Clean Air Act; regulatory development; enforcement of state regulations; Public Resources Act matters; and more. She is an Advisor for the Executive Committee of the Environmental Law Section of the California Lawyers Association (CLA), and represents the Environmental Law Section on the CLA Board of Representatives. She also serves as the 2026 Chair of the CLA Board of Representatives. Professor Fierro has also taught as an adjunct professor at Fresno City College, CSU-Fresno, and Kern County College of Law.
