Former County Clerk/Registrar of Voters (Ret.)

A resident of the County of Fresno for the past 44 years, Victor was appointed by the Fresno County Board of Supervisors to the position of County Clerk/Registrar of Voters in January 2001. Victor began his career with the County of Fresno as the Consumer Protection Assistant and was promoted to manage Fresno County’s Consumer Protection Program as the Consumer Protection Coordinator. While attending law school, he worked full-time as a consultant with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and as a law clerk with the law offices of Forrest and McLaughlin. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Salazar went to Sacramento where he worked as Staff Counsel for the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. He then became an Assistant General Counsel with the Agricultural Labor Relations Board in Visalia. Victor Salazar later returned to Fresno to work as an attorney with the law offices of Forrest and McLaughlin. This was followed by three years of service as a Managing Attorney with Central California Legal Services before his appointment as Fresno County Clerk.
