On July 13, 2018, Darryl and Gretchen Freedman made a gift of $1 million to San Joaquin College of Law to support the acquisition and renovation of the Clovis Senior Center to become the Darryl B. Freedman Law Library. Darryl died in December of 2018. He wanted this gift to SJCL for the Library to be his legacy to the community.
The Freedmans’ gift is crucial to the addition of classroom, study, and clinical space that will be available to future law students at SJCL.
SJCL expects to have possession of the Senior Center late in 2023 and is gearing up for the renovation process. Please watch for the date in the spring of the unveiling of the banner on the building proclaiming it “Future Home of the Darryl B. Freedman Law Library.”
