Linda Barreto, Esq., Director of the SJCL New American Legal Clinic and Professor of Law passed the California Legal Specialist Exam in Immigration Law.
This makes her one of the five attorneys in the San Joaquin Valley to have passed this exam. She has chosen to use that considerable skill to represent low-income individuals in the NALC Clinic. Congratulations, Linda. We, and your many clients, are impressed by and grateful for all you do!

The Central Valley Regional Pathway to Law was doubly honored at the sixth annual Pathways to Law Summit on February 19, 2021. “We are devastated to announce we lost one of the 'Giants' yesterday. San Joaquin College of Law Founder and Chevalier John Loomis was 96. His integrity, generosity of spirit, service, gentleness, and extreme humility will never be extinguished or forgotten. He left everyone and everything just a little bit better than he found it. In many ways, he was the heart of SJCL. And he’s taken a piece of ours as he leaves."
SJCL’s own Administrative Assistant extraordinaire Esmeralda Felix, has just completed her B.S. degree in Criminology, with a Victimology option from Fresno State.
