Under the supervision of a Librarian, during library hours, the library proctor maintains a continuous presence at the proctor desk to assist library patrons.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer the phone while demonstrating exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Provide technical assistance with library and other school equipment if needed.
  • Weekend shift accepts mail and packages.
  • Provide directional assistance.
  • Answer reference questions without giving legal advice.
  • Enforce library rules and policies.
  • Assist patrons with printer/copy machine if needed.
  • Check out books if allowed.
  • PM shift is responsible for the building’s closing procedures.
  • Monitor premises.

Qualifications

  • Current student in good academic standing at San Joaquin College of Law.
  • Eligible for Work Study.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependable and able to follow instructions.

Classification: Part-time, Federal Work Study position
Reports To: SJCL Librarian
Wage: $16.50 per hour
