What is an IEE?

If you disagree with the results of the district’s initial or a reevaluation of your child, you can ask the district to pay for an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE). Parents/caregivers should inform the district of their request for an IEE in writing, stating the evaluation was invalid. Once parents inform the district of their IEE request, the district only has two choices, either: (1) fund the IEE or (2) file for due process claiming their evaluation was appropriate. If the district agrees to fund the IEE, parents then must select an IEE provider. This resource is meant to help guide you in your search for an IEE provider.

If you are a provider that would like to be added to this list, please contact jhoward@sjcl.edu.
