Reserving Equipment
To use the projector, please contact Pat Smith to reserve the projector remote, wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse and also let her know if you require the sound to be turned on.
How to use the Projector
- Power on the wall mounted computer by pressing the silver power button on the face of the computer. The button is labelled “Power.”
- Select the user “Room 207” and enter the password provided by Pat Smith.
Note: Occasionally the login will bring up a bluescreen. If this happens click “OK” and re-enter the login credentials.
- Open up Internet Explorer and agree to the terms of service if it prompts you for it.
- Point the remote at the ceiling mounted projector and press the power button.
Wall Mounted Computer
The wall mounted computer has a touch screen display. The touchscreen is a slightly different resolution than the projector so the very top of the screen requires you to touch slightly lower than the icons and the very bottom of the screen require you to touch slightly above the icons.
The latest version of Microsoft Office has been pre-installed on the computer. If you require specialized software for your presentation, please let Pat Smith know.
Wirelessly Connect to the Projector using Miracast
If you have a Windows (laptop, tablet, or phone) or Android (tablet or phone), you can use Miracast to connect wirelessly to the projector.
- Connect to the “SJCLAP” wireless network with the password “sjclapap” and then agree to the usage agreement for SJCL’s wireless network.
- On your device, go to your Miracast settings which typically can be found in Settings > System > Display > Connect Wireless and select “SJCL-Room 207” (This location in your settings can vary by device – If you need assistance please contact the SJCL Helpdesk at 559/326-1599).
- Once you have successfully connected, your devices screen will show up on the projector.
Wirelessly Connect to the Projector using AirPlay
If you have an Apple product (MacBook, iPad, or iPhone) you can use AirPlay to connect wirelessly to the projector.
- Connect to the “SJCLAP” wireless network with the password “sjclapap” and then agree to the usage agreement for SJCL’s wireless network.
- On your device, got to your AirPlay settings which can be found by swiping up on an iPhone or iPad and selecting AirPlay or will display in the upper right finder bar of your MacBook and then select “SJCL Room 207.” (If you need assistance please contact the SJCL Helpdesk at 559/326-1599).
- Once you have successfully connected, your devices screen will show up on the projector.
Wired Connection to Projector
For older computers that are not compatible with Miracast or AirPlay, you have the ability to connect with HDMI or VGA. The hardwire connections are next to the wall mounted computer. For this setup you need to contact SJCL’s HelpDesk prior to the event as some settings need to be changed in order to make it work.
Sound
If you require sound for your presentation, please notify Pat Smith at the time of your reservation. For the sound to be active it requires SJCL staff to turn it on.
- The sound volume can be controlled with the projector remote.
When finished with your presentation
- Once you are finished with your presentation, please return and check-in the wireless keyboard, mouse, and projector remote to the Library Proctor.
Note: If the wireless keyboard, mouse, or projector remote is not checked in with the Proctor, you will be charged $100 for their replacement.
- To turn off the projector, press the power button once to bring up the power off menu and then press it a second time to turn off the projector.
- To turn off the wall mounted computer, click the Start Menu and then Shut Down.
