Peter Schaffert is a practicing attorney and partner at Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, representing public sector education clients since 2012. With extensive experience in education law, he advises school districts, county offices of education, and community college districts on a wide range of legal issues. His practice includes public sector employment law, collective bargaining and labor relations, student rights, and public governance, with a particular focus on compliance with the Education Code, the Brown Act, Constitutional law and other statutory frameworks governing California public education. Professor Schaffert draws on over a decade of education law practice to provide public school clients with practical advice in a challenging legal landscape. His work is driven by a commitment to helping educational institutions navigate legal challenges while advancing their mission to serve California students.
