First-time Stafford Loan Borrowers at San Joaquin College of Law

You must complete entrance counseling first and then go to the lender comparison site to choose a lender and complete the loan application/promissory note.

You are not required to use one of the lenders on our preferred lender list.  You may use any lender that participates in the FFEL program.

To complete entrance counseling you will need to create a username and password at the site below and then complete a short test regarding student loan borrowing.

To review the lender comparison list and apply for Stafford loans, you will need the following information:

  1. The expected graduation year of May 2012 (this may change once you complete the first year)
  2.  The amount of subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford you have been offered (from your online award letter)
  3.  The "loan needed" date of  August 2008.
